Working in Crisis and Emergency Settings Part 1: Staying Grounded in Peer Support Values

In part 1 of this 3-part series for peer specialists working in emergency psychiatric settings, participants will explore some of the foundational values for peer support workers as they apply to crisis situations. Through a mix of personal reflection and engaging with the N.A.P.S. National Practice Guidelines for Peer Supporters, participants will have an opportunity to reconnect with the unique perspectives at the heart of the peer specialist role. Future sessions in this series will explore the challenges of maintaining fidelity to the peer specialist role and the role of advocacy as a peer support worker in crisis and emergency settings.
